Powerful and persuasive written submissions, exceptional research skills, and behind-the-bench insights form the foundation of Molly Savage’s consistent success as an appellate advocate. Molly’s ability to craft arguments specifically directed to the concerns, questions, and thinking of appellate panels facilitates her effectiveness across a broad spectrum of matters.
Molly’s appellate focus was preceded by her work at a boutique litigation firm, where she gained significant experience and honed her skills in representing clients in a broad range of civil rights and employment law matters, both at the trial court level and on appeal. She drafted sophisticated briefs on complex issues heard in both state and federal courts, including appellate briefs, motions to dismiss, motions for summary judgment, motions to compel, and motions to stay.
As invaluable as that experience was in developing her advocacy skills, it was Molly’s time spent as a law clerk in the Michigan Court of Appeals that provided her with the knowledge, perspectives, and understanding that add significant value for her clients at the appellate level. Molly’s clerkship with the Honorable Philip P. Mariani on the Michigan Court of Appeals imbued her with an appreciation for how and why judges make decisions. She knows what works on appeal and what doesn’t and implements strategies most likely to resonate and persuade.
When working with clients, Molly takes the time to ensure they understand the process and procedure and know what to expect as their matters proceed. She sees herself not only as an advocate for those she represents but also as an ally in their corner inside and outside of the courtroom.
A graduate, cum laude, of Grand Valley State University, Molly earned her law degree from Wayne State University Law School, where she graduated in the top 10% of her class and served as associate editor of the Journal of Business Law.
